Orange

It was more like an orange hour. I had to take them all to hospital this morning for Joshua's appointment, I was really worried but they both sat in the waiting room reading books together. Then this afternoon we went to the home ed meet in Sheffield.

RED

This morning before I was even showered and dressed Hannah was busy making a house for her hamster (toy). Using different boxes we have saved, we have a huge supply that she loves to use to create things, she said I couldn't take a picture until it was finished. I love it that she is able to just come up with these things on her own and get on with it.

Today was red.
We read the book, then we went on a red scavenger hunt, we did the red section of our rainbow we had red food for snacks and red milk, although more like brown milk, natural food colouring is just not as good!

Lukas didn't get dressed all day. Aunty Abi sent some pictures this morning and Hannah decided she wanted to dress like her, so she picked out a dress and put a t-shirt on top, Abi did that a lot.
We're going to make a rainbow book at the end of the week, this is page one

Hannah made a table so we can count how many different coloured things we find each day, although as predicted Lukas didn't last to long and we only managed 10 red things. He knows much more then he likes me to think he does, he found red things without any problems. He does't like getting messy so didn't do much sticking but he loves cutting things out.

Hannah wanted to draw some flags with red on, she chose the Hong Kong flag, she wanted me to print it out but I said she needed to draw it, she couldn't and cried in frustration, I still didn't print it out for her because I am a mean mummy who is obviously not an autonomous educator and decided she really didn't need me to print out a page for her to colour in red.

Rainbow week

So I'm still finding my way with this whole home education thing, I really like to go with the flow keeping some specific maths and or writing in mind but I'm not always organised enough to have things to do with Lukas, (code name!!)He isn't showing signs of boredom and generally when I try to do specific things with him he doesn't really like it so its probably just me thats worried about it (as usual)
Regardless of that I'm going to try a new thing for this week and organise a theme in advance, something specific for Lukas' development but that Hannah can easily use as a base for her to find new things to do and learn!

This is the book we're going to use. We're going to do one of the colours each day. Hannah wants to find different flags that use each days colour, we'll see how long it lasts!
